Silliman Celebrates UCLEW

The morning Sunday service at the Silliman University Church on July 11 will officially launch the celebration of the University Christian Life Emphasis Week (UCLEW).

A series of activities is lined up until July 18 for students, faculty and staff. One of the highlights for this semester is the modified Galilean fellowship wherein students will be hosted by faculty members in groups at the Amphitheater.

All units have also scheduled their respective devotions, and a 3-minute prayer meditation will be observed every start of the class.

UCLEW is organized by the University Spiritual Life Council (USLC), in partnership with the Silliman University Church. The purpose for which UCLEW is considered a major activity in Silliman is resonated in the mission of the USLC: "To create and nurture in Silliman an academic and scholarly environment that promotes and sustain among the University's students, faculty, staff and alumni individual and collective strengthening of faith in a creating, redeeming and sustaining God, who in Jesus Christ, is The Way, the The Truth and The Life."

USLC Chair Prof. Carlos Magtolis, Jr., Dean of Students, will be the speaker during the opening of the celebration, while Rev. Bernadette Morales, Minister to the University, will be the preacher during the Commitment and Dedication Worship Service on July 25.
