ACQUISITION SECTION
Location: 3rd Floor, Southeast portion
Its main function is to acquire book and non-book materials (excluding serial) in support to the curricular offerings of Silliman University. This is systematically accomplished by purchasing the needed materials and soliciting gifts and donations for addition and incorporation into the library collection. Considered as the business section of the library, it is the place where ordering and receiving of book purchases are processed as well as the place where soliciting and acknowledging of gifts and donations are done. It is also the place where these library materials are recorded and made ready for cataloging and/or forwarding to their appropriate sections and ultimately for use by our library clientele.
Resources: Book selection and acquisition tools, publishers' catalogs, newly-acquired books and other library materials which are purchased or donated.
